Wanna Write a Story?

If you're here, then that means you're interested in writing a FoxTrot or Calvin and Hobbes story or poem. It's easy to do that, just follow the steps below!

  1. Write your story (or poem) in a word processor. If your story is long, divide it up into chapters because you can only post so much at one time.

  2. Proofread your story for errors. Use a spellchecker. Divide story chapters into paragraphs. This helps make your story look nicer, and makes it more readable.

  3. Save your story on your computer. This is important because if your story gets deleted for some reason, or if something goes wrong while you're posting it, it's gone forever.

  4. Copy and post your story chapters in the appropriate place. To minimize clutter, it is preferable to post all your chapters in one discussion.

FoxTrot stories are posted in the FoxTrot Talk folder of the FTDA. Calvin and Hobbes stories are posted in the Fanfictions folder of the C&HDA.

  5. Sit back, and let others read your story. Don't expect people to read it right away, it takes a bit of time for everyone to find it and get around to reading it.

Keep in mind that SPIFF does not preserve every FoxTrot and C&H story, just the best ones. However, don't let this worry you. People will probably still read any story that you post.
